Hi!, I’m Erefaa Ogbuaku a Psychotherapist (qualifying), and Mental Health Advocate. Prior to becoming a therapist, I served individuals from multicultural, diverse backgrounds and ethnicity for over a decade and worked in the community supporting individuals experiencing addictions. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from York University.
I appreciate the struggles and dynamics of a family unit and the challenges that individuals encounter in life. My aim is to support you whilst working towards greater personal understanding.
I utilize a client-centered approach from a holistic, cultural, trauma-informed, and inclusive framework while integrating techniques such as Eye-Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so we will work collaboratively in a safe and non-judgmental space, understanding your values, culture, beliefs, and reality, while encouraging you to be the best version of yourself.
I look forward to working with you and helping you on your journey to self-actualization.
Hi, my name is Julie Galipeau, I am a Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. It is a calling and a privilege for me to be able to offer therapeutic services to people, maybe like yourself, who need to talk to someone in a confidential and non-judgmental setting. My aim is to accompany you and my goal is that we work together to alleviate the distress that you may be having to live with. My approach is humanistic, human to human, we can create a plan together, that is harmonious with your own therapeutic goals. Allowing some space for insight and transformation.
All Qualifying Psychotherapists listed are clinically supervised by Anjali Joseph RP RMFT, they have completed all the course work required for the College of Registered of Psychotherapists and are engaged in applying current modalities of therapy. We take care to work collaboratively with you to offer therapeutic practice that is appreciative of your experience. Making space for conversations about cultural and racial awareness/experience and processes of meaning-making where beneficial and appropriate. To do so we apply a systemic approach to understanding how social constructs impact the individual and attempt to be respectful of differing expressions of distress ( burnout, overstimulation, addiction, marital discord, isolating, resistance)..
Angela Abu Zidan has been a invaluable asset to Capital Counselling these past months. And like this acknowledgement, ( she didn't want to share a picture) she is behind the scenes supporting many administrative aspects of this practice.
